Welcome to Century Acupuncture! If a natural approach to health is important to you, you’re in the right place.
At Century Acupuncture we love what we do and look forward to helping you reach your health goals. We are also passionate about providing natural and sustainable approaches such as acupuncture, bodywork, manual therapies, nutritional recommendations and Western and Chinese herbs.
Chinese medicine is a safe and effective system of prevention, diagnosis and treatment that has been practiced around the world for thousands of years. It has been recognized and researched by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Chinese medicine can also be integrated with Western health modalities to improve treatment outcomes, so we welcome collaboration and communication with other health providers.
Acupuncture excels at pain relief but can be used to treat many types of conditions. After 20 years as a massage therapist Gina Michael L.Ac., LMT has developed a unique style of healing that employs orthopedic sensibilities and Chinese medicine, lending itself well to pain relief and injury, but also frequently treats: digestive disorders, menopause and Womens’ Health, insomnia, anxiety, colds and flu and respiratory issues.
We encourage you to see how natural health can help you.

Try Something New –
That’s Thousands of Years Old
Ancient Medicine
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine needles at specific points which have defined therapeutic actions. Acupuncture treatments focus on returning patients to health by restoring the flow of Qi, removing blockages, balancing Yin and Yang and restoring the harmonious balance within the body.
Assessment of current condition, health history, lifestyle, pulse and tongue diagnosis. Treatments may include acupuncture, cupping, moxa, tuina, guasha, dietary and herbal recommendations.
Natural Remedies
Dependent on plants for oxygen, food, clothing, shelter, spiritual insight and medicine; humans have relied on plant allies for hundreds of thousands of years. Evidence from the middle Paleolithic era shows that ancient humans held the knowledge of a basic pharmacopeia and some of those same herbs are still in use today.
Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western Herbology are utilized to address symptoms and treat the root of the problem. Capsules, tinctures, teas and external applications are frequently recommended to restore the body to wellness.
Address Your Disharmony
Chinese medical massage. Sessions take place on the massage table, wearing loose comfortable clothing.
Generally, no creams or oils are used. A wide variety of hand techniques are used, including hallmark rolling techniques to stimulate points and meridians of the body.
Sessions can be used as regulatory treatments or to treat more specific ailments. Frequently used in conjunction with acupuncture.
Cupping Therapy
By creating suction and negative pressure, cupping may be used to drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions, lift connective tissue and bring blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin.
Some of the therapeutic effects of cupping include: improved lymph drainage, loosening of adhesions and scar tissue, release of deep tissues, removal of stagnation, relief of inflammation, stimulation of blood flow and sedation of the nervous system.
Warming Relief
External heat therapy. Moxibustion or “moxa” is frequently used with acupuncture and massage techniques.
Mugwort (Artemisilae Argyi) is dried, the floss is then rolled in to cones and sticks and burned above the skin to warm an area or an acupuncture point.
Commonly used to relieve pain but can be helpful with gynecological issues, digestion weakness and obstetrics.
Thai Yoga Bodywork
2500-year-old style of Asian bodywork. Sessions take place on a padded mat, wearing loose comfortable clothing. No creams or oils are used.
A unique combination of meditation, reflexology, stretching, yoga and acupressure. “The” best therapy for maintaining healthy muscles and joints with good flexibility and range of motion.
All 90 minute Traditional Thai Massage sessions have the option of including herbal heat packs at no additional charge.
Thai Massage and Ancient Herbal Compressing
A combination of traditional Thai massage and ancient herbal compressing methods. Hot compresses made from traditional Thai herbal formulas are pressed over arms, legs, back and torso.
Especially beneficial for detoxifying, relaxation, pain and relief of sore, stiff muscles. Traditional Thai massage, as practiced in Thailand.
A Unique Style Enjoyed Throughout Thailand
A unique reflexology style. Incorporates hot towels, powdering of the feet, reflexology point stimulation with hands and heel stick, oil massage, wrapping of the foot and leg.
90 minute sessions include techniques for the foot, lower leg and around the knee. Very thorough therapy for the foot and lower leg. Great for plantar fasciitis, leg or foot cramps, runners or anyone who spends time on their feet.
Western Soft Deep Tissue Therapy
A combination of deep Swedish movements gradually working deeper into trigger point and muscle fiber therapy.
Recommended for pain relief and deep relaxation of muscles.
